Salford's Five-Wheeled Omnibus




verso The five-wheeled omnibus, artist unknown but ascribed to Henry Calvert
John Greenwood ran this service from Pendleton toll-gate to Albert Bridge between 1861 and 1872. The flanged fifth wheel kept the four other wheels on the metal track. Salford Museums and Art Galleries.
